On Thursday, health officials in Germany logged 50,131 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 4.9 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 90.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 219 Covid-related deaths for a total of 97,818 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 251 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 228 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.0 million worldwide.
