On Wednesday, health officials in Germany logged 41,816 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 7.1 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 83.6% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 381 Covid-related deaths for a total of 112,133 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 283 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 252 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.4 million worldwide.
