For the ninth day in a row, Ontario logged less than 3,000 new Covid-19 cases. In the last 24-hours, health officials recorded 2,170 new infections. Of the total confirmed positive cases in the province, 93% have recovered. Slightly better than Canada’s rate of 92.9%.
Daily Covid-related deaths increased by another 4 fatalities, the lowest single-day increase in the last eight weeks.
Globally, over 166 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 144 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.3 million worldwide.
