Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of March 3, 2022, at 8:00 pm EST.

On Thursday, health officials in the Poland logged 14,068 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 5.7 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 89.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 266 Covid-related deaths for a total of 112,130 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Daily update of Ontario’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign

With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 31.7 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on March 3, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 17,291 vaccine doses on Wednesday, down from 19,014 doses the day prior.

Covid-19 in Canada, fewer hospitalizations but still too many deaths

TORONTO – New decline in Covid-19 hospital admissions in Ontario: from 847 patients on Wednesday, they dropped to 834 today, the lowest number since last December 29, when the number of hospitalized patients was 726. Attendance in intensive care also falls: today 267, yesterday 278. However, the number of victims remains high: today another 19 people died from or with Covid-19. Now the total deaths in Ontario, since the start of the pandemic, are 12,497. →

Sempre meno ricoverati per il Covid-19 in Ontario

TORONTO – 847 persone in ospedale con il Covid-19, 273 delle quali in terapia intensiva. Calano ancora i ricoveri negli ospedali dell’Ontario: l’altro ieri i pazienti erano in totale 914, dei quali 278 in terapia intensiva. Bisogna poi tenere presente che delle persone ricoverate negli ospedali soltanto il 44% è lì a causa del Covid-19, perché il restante 56% è finito all’ospedale per altri motivi e ha scoperto di essere positivo soltanto dopo il tampone fatto al momento del ricovero. Le percentuali cambiano nelle terapie intensive: l’82% dei pazienti è in ICU principalmente a causa del Covid-19, mentre il 18% dei casi si trova lì per altri motivi, ma ha anche il virus. On Wednesday, health officials in the UK logged 44,017 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 19.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 87.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 74 Covid-related deaths for a total of 161,704 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Toronto City Hall, the vaccine remains mandatory

TORONTO – The policy requiring employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 has not been deleted. In Ontario the vaccination passport to access restaurants, bars, gyms, cinemas and events is no longer mandatory from Tuesday but, apparently, many municipalities do not care.

TORONTO – Nonostante l’incognita futuro – nessuno sa cosa ci riserverà il Covid-19 nei mesi a venire – allentamenti alle restrizioni sono iniziati in tutto il mondo. Da ieri, in Ontario non viene più richiesto il passaporto vaccinale nella maggior parte dei ristoranti, palestre e cinema mentre i locali notturni, quelli sportivi e le sale per concerti possono eliminare i limiti di capienza. Restrictions removed, soon we return to the office

TORONTO – Despite the unknown future – no one knows what Covid-19 will hold for us in the months to come – easing restrictions has begun around the world. Since today, in Ontario the vaccination passport is no longer required in most restaurants, gyms and cinemas while nightclubs, sports clubs and concert halls can eliminate capacity limits.
