On Saturday, health officials in Germany logged 42,422 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 7.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 89.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 161 Covid-related deaths for a total of 114,652 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 304 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 258 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.4 million worldwide.
