On Saturday, health officials in Ontario logged 378 new infections, numbers not seen since mid-June. Of the cumulative 552 thousand confirmed positive cases, 97.9% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 9, brining the total number of fatalities in the province to 9,401. However, officials state that one of the nine deaths reported occurred more than two months ago.
Globally, over 202 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 182 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.2 million worldwide.
Spain has not updated the status of Covid-19 cases since August 6, 2021.
