On Tuesday, health officials in the US logged 112,484 new infections. Of the cumulative 42.2 million confirmed positive cases, 76% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 1,738, bringing the total number of fatalities to 682,143.
Globally, over 225 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 203 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.6 million worldwide.
According to health officials in Ontario, in addition to the 6 Covid-related fatalities reported on September 14, 1 death occurred more than one month ago.
