On Friday, health officials in India logged 35,367 new infections. Of the cumulative 33.4 million confirmed positive cases, 97.6% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 285, bringing the total number of fatalities to 444,563.
Globally, over 227 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 204 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.6 million worldwide.
