On Tuesday, health officials in the Philippines logged 16,361 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 2.4 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 91.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 140, bringing the total number of fatalities to 37,074.
Globally, over 229 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 206 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.7 million worldwide.
