On Thursday, health officials in Germany logged 64,164 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 5.2 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 87.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 261 Covid-related deaths for a total of 99,169 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 255 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 231 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.1 million worldwide.
