On Wednesday, health officials in the USA logged 82,236 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 49.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 79.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 1,092 Covid-related deaths for a total of 804,345 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Globally, over 263 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 237 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.2 million worldwide.
