On Saturday, health officials in Italy logged 62,231 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 12.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 84.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 269 Covid-related deaths for a total of 150,824 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 409 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 330 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.8 million worldwide.
