On Wednesday, health officials in Germany logged 98,458 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 25.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 96.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 222 Covid-related deaths for a total of 136,405 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 515 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 469 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.2 million worldwide.
