On Thursday, health officials in Russia logged 40,096 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 8.3 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 86.6% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 1,159 Covid-related deaths for a total of 235,057 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 245 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 223 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.9 million worldwide.
