TORONTO – 666 new cases. A decidedly not very reassuring number, in every sense, that of the new cases recorded today in Ontario where there were also 7 deaths from Covid-19. The province therefore reported the highest number of infections in almost 40 days, to be precise since 2 October, when 704 cases were detected. The causes have risen in the last: 661 Saturday, 598 Friday, 642 Thursday. And the seven-day moving average is now 563, significantly higher than a week ago (468). TORONTO – More tests and fewer cases: what emerges from today’s data on the progress of the pandemic in Ontario is a good sign. 269 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded, the lowest number since last August 5 (213). Today is also the fourth consecutive day of decline: Friday 492, Saturday 373, Sunday 370 and Monday 326 out of 18,397 tests processed against 21,800 today: the positivity rate is 1.5%. TORONTO – La quarta ondata? È già iniziata. E colpisce prevalentemente i non vaccinati, anche se in alcuni casi si ammala pure chi il vaccino l’ha già ricevuto. È quanto emerge dagli ultimi dati relativi ai contagi: il conteggio giornaliero dei casi di Covid-19 in Ontario continua a oscillare tra le 300 e le 400 nuove infezioni al giorno e gli esperti di malattie infettive avvertono che è previsto un aumento dei casi nelle prossime settimane…
