Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

Health officials in Poland have recorded a record high of 35,251 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours. On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health registered 652 fatalities attributable to the virus and an additional 621 new deaths today, numbers not seen since November 2020. (more…)

Globally, there have been over 126 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 102 million people have recovered and more than 2.7 million fatalities were attributable to Covid-19.
[GTranslate]TORONTO – Given the importance of achieving high vaccine coverage to mitigate the impacts of Covid-19, the effectiveness to do so will depend on the number of people willing to get vaccinated. So far, the numbers do not seem overwhelming.
People’s attitudes towards vaccines vary based on a number of factors including their concerns, their values and their lifestyles. GWI (GlobalWebIndex), a company providing market research and insight to agencies around the world, collected research data from various countries to gauge public perception towards the Covid-19 vaccine.
