In Mexico, the fatalities attributable to Covid-19 exceed 200,000. Globally, Mexico has the third greatest number of Covid-19 related deaths, behind the US and Brazil.

The accurate number of deaths is likely to be higher than the official count following reports that the country’s real Covid-19 death toll is closer to 300,000. When considering Mexico’s fatality rate of 1,534 per million of population, it falls behind other leading European nations like the UK, Italy and Spain.

Globally, there have been over 126 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 102 million people have recovered and more than 2.7 million fatalities were attributable to Covid-19.
