Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Could it be a coincidence that Conservative candidates who had always won big in certain districts were defeated by liberal opponents from a certain point on, despite the decline in support of Justin Trudeau’s party? The question arises spontaneously in light of the case of China’s interference in Canadian politics and of the service published today by the National Post which analyzed the electoral results of some districts in Ontario and British Columbia.
TORONTO – In 2023, home prices could fall by just 1%, according to a new market survey carried out by Royal LePage. The (average) price of a Canadian home would therefore fall just 1% year-over-year from $772,900 to $765,171 – something that could disappoint hopeful homebuyers that rising interest rates would pushed house prices down. TORONTO – Covid data stopped: today, due to the celebration of Victoria Day, the provincial health officials did not provide the usual bulletin, but the balance of last weekend is still indicative and highlights a significant drop in infections, hospitalizations and of deaths. (more…)
TORONTO – Covid-19, another 16 deaths today in Ontario – like Tuesday: but, contrary to what was announced last week, also today the provincial health authorities didn’t specify how many of these deaths occurred for or with Covid-19 The total number of the victims of the virus in Ontario, since the beginning of the pandemic, therefore for the moment being sold at 12,288. TORONTO – Covid-19, the trend of the last few days is reconfirmed: hospitalizations in constant decline, death curve in continuous and decisive rise: today the victims in Ontario were 66, bringing the total from the beginning of the pandemic to 11,944. On the other hand, 2,059 people are currently in hospital with Covid-19, a sharp decline from the 2,254 on Tuesday. The number of people in intensive care has also fallen from 474 to 449. (more…)
