Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Private healthcare can “help” where public healthcare does not arrive: this is essentially the message launched by the premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, during today’s press conference – the first of 2023 – in which, while opening to private healthcare, he also declared that the notorious Bill 124 – the legislation that capped wage increases for most public sector workers at 1% for three years – “doesn’t exist”. →
Catholic school board trustees have a fiduciary duty to oversee the care of children whose parents entrust them to the publicly funded Catholic education system. It is a challenging job. Catholic ratepayers elect those trustees every four years with the expectation that the publicly elected board members protect, preserve and promote the Catholic education system.
It is their duty under the Law. The very same duty espoused in Catholic values that support faith formation. →
