Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

TORONTO – New faces, confirmations, and surprises. The composition of the new federal government is now done, whose members will be s swear tomorrow morning before Governor General Mary Simon and will immediately get to work after this long break from the vote of last September 20. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, for this third Cabinet, has promised that there will be a substantial gender balance and that, as in the past, all the provinces of Canada will have representation in the government team. TORONTO – The guidelines outlined by Ontario to deal with Covid in the province’s public schools are not enough. Dissatisfied with the protocols, which will be implemented with the start of the new school year, the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) has decided to do it itself and has drawn up a series of guidelines. Everything is silent, however, as far as the Toronto Catholic District School Board is concerned: the return to school is still shrouded in mystery. (more…)
TORONTO – There are just over three weeks left before the start of the new school year. Another year that will begin with the specter of the pandemic. Just in view of the return to school of the boys, the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), illustrated at Highland Heights Junior Public School how it is preparing in terms of ventilation and safety measures. The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), on the other hand, has so far not made public any measures that will be adopted from September in its schools. Parents who have decided to let their children attend school in the presence of their children are still in the dark. As are students and teachers. (more…)
