Catholic trustees: they exist but do they understand why?

Catholic school board trustees have a fiduciary duty to oversee the care of children whose parents entrust them to the publicly funded Catholic education system. It is a challenging job. Catholic ratepayers elect those trustees every four years with the expectation that the publicly elected board members protect, preserve and promote the Catholic education system.

It is their duty under the Law. The very same duty espoused in Catholic values that support faith formation. (more…)

Why Pakistan opted out of Prez Biden’s Summit for Democracy?

As China and Bangladesh were not invited to the US President Joe Biden’s Summit for Democracy, Pakistan did not join being invited. Apparently Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan did not receive any phone call since President Biden has taken office. The Pakistan government has chosen not participate, but Wednesday Islamabad said that it was “thankful” to the US government for the invite. This summit is being held for the first time on 8-10 December, with countries participating virtually.  (more…)
