The search
The Mexican community in Canada, as well as different media, began a search campaign for Paz Lozoya. At the request of his parents, the Mexican consulate in Leamington contacted the OPP and began to share messages requesting information about the whereabouts of the young man without success.
However, the dismissal of Darío Alberto Bernal Acero, honorary consul of Mexico in Leamington, after a sex video recorded in front of his desk at the consular headquarters was made public, as well as the fact that Paz Lozoya’s relatives were in Mexico and the Covid-19 pandemic, made the search difficult.
The OPP noted that its Essex County Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Ontario Forensic Pathology Services, and Ontario Coroner’s Office are continuing the investigation, but did not provide details on whether the death is in progress. treated as suspicious.
