On Tuesday, health officials in Italy logged 83,643 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 15.4 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 91.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 169 Covid-related deaths for a total of 161,032 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 499 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 450 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.1 million worldwide.
