UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

Ricky Castellvi, April 5, 2021August 25, 2023

When first asked about homosexuality, my first response without hesitation is I am not homophobic. I have nieces and nephews who are gays. And I love them to death, more than myself regardless of what they are. I was exposed to it at an early stage. I saw them bullied and discriminated against in school and on the street. I saw distant relatives who have gay in their family on how they deal with it. Some went to the extent of trying to reverse the situation by strict discipline and punishment. Some families feel that it’s a disease, genes in balance that can be cured by medicine or tactics. So they send their gay child to reformatory school to change their outlook in life which is to no avail. Nothing changes when they reach adulthood.

I attended a seminar on the subject of same-sex relationships. A lot of sensitive questions were brought up to the point of morality. Including same-sex marriage. The moderator tried to keep the discussion on civility. The pros and cons were weight and balance from an educational point of view.

The subject of same-sex relationships was discussed as an adult what happens in a close-door bedroom of the adult partner is no one’s business. And when same-sex marriage came about. One point came out that marriage is between men and women to propagate children.

>>> Parents when asked how to deal with their children at an early stage when their children are just developing, without hesitation, a parent answer is to love and accept her child unconditionally. Nothing should change. Children need assurance that our love for them and our relationship with them is not affected. When they finally get the courage to come out, your own perspective on sexual morality is not what your child needs to hear. That conversation calls for another guidance and, most of all, a resolve to accept our children for what they are. Let us not fool ourselves that we can ignore the situation or change them.

>>>> Yes, the parent has a role to teach their children the way, they wish. However, children brought up by Christian parents know it already. What children need most is for parents to show them their support and love. What a perfect opportunity to exercise unconditional love with children. It is a perfect chance to model the unconditional way, .

>>> Same-sex marriage topic discussion takes the cake. No one wants to give in on their position. Strong words were used. It’s like pouring gasoline to a fire when Pro and Anti-abortion was brought up. Well, level heads prevail that discussion should be on educational purposes that personal emotions have no place for it. There is no right or wrong that is conclusive. Ang pag kakaron nang relasion at pag sasama nang parehong kataohan may ida, ay wala na pakialam ang sinuman kung ano ang nangyayari sa loob nang kanilang saradong silid.
