Cases continue to mount in India as the country reports its highest one-day increase of 362,902 new infections. In the last 24-hours, the number of Covid-related deaths increased by 3,285. The surge has pushed the death toll over 201,000.
Canada is to provide $10 million, through the Canadian Red Cross, to aid in India’s health crisis.
Globally, over 148 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 126 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.1 million worldwide.
Portugal did not enter any data for number of Covid-related deaths on April 26.
