Covid-19, i ricoveri in Ontario tornano sopra quota 800

TORONTO – Continuano ad aumentare le ospedalizzazioni di pazienti-Covid in Ontario: ieri erano 807 le persone con il virus ricoverate negli ospedali della provincia, in aumento dalle 778 dell’altro ieri e soprattutto dalle 661 di appena una settimana fa (+22%). Quello di ieri è il numero più alto di ricoveri dal 4 marzo scorso, quando negli ospedali erano ricoverate 821 persone con il virus. The Pope to the Natives: “Indignation and shame for residential schools. With all my heart, I am very sorry”

VATICAN CITY – “Indignation and shame” for what happened in residential school in Canada: “for the deplorable conduct of those members of the Catholic Church, I ask for God’s forgiveness and I want to say to you with all my heart: I am very sorry”. After private meetings between Pope Francis and First Nations, Inuit and Metis delegates this week, all parties met the Pope at the Vatican on Friday and, speaking in Italian, the Pontiff asked for God’s forgiveness, recognizing the wrongs done to Indigenous in residential schools.

Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of March 31, 2022, at 4:45pm EST.

On Thursday, health officials in Germany logged 208,653 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 21.1 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 78.1% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 241 Covid-related deaths for a total of 129,983 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

The experts: “The stop to restrictions? A mistake”

TORONTO – Having let your guard down can cost Ontario dearly. There is no doubt that some health officials in Ontario and Quebec – two provinces officially in the middle of the sixth wave – attribute the increase in infections caused by the sub-variant of Covid-19 Omicron BA.2 to the removal of restrictions such as the obligation to wear a mask and vaccination certificates.

Covid-19, hospitalizations in Ontario are again above 800

TORONTO – Hospitalizations of Covid inpatients continue to increase in Ontario: today there were 807 people with the virus admitted to hospitals in the province, an increase from 778 yesterday and especially from 661 just a week ago (+ 22%) . Today’s is the highest number of hospitalizations since March 4, when 821 people with the virus were hospitalized.
