Ontario, ospedalizzazioni in netto calo

TORONTO – Continuano a scendere in maniera decisa le ospedalizzazioni Covid-19 in Ontario: ieri le persone ricoverate negli ospedali della provincia erano 1.540: l’altro ieri erano 1.704, venerdì 1.829 e la scorsa settimana ben 2.493. Anche il numero delle persone in terapia intensiva è sceso dalle 414 di sabato alle 402 di ieri, anche se il loro numero potrebbe essere più alto perché non tutti gli ospedali comunicano i propri dati durante il weekend. On Sunday, health officials in Poland logged 22,070 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 5.4 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 85.4% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 31 Covid-related deaths for a total of 108,120 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Ontario and Quebec, Covid hospitalizations in sharp decline

TORONTO – Covid-19 hospitalizations in Ontario continue to drop significantly: today there were 1,540 people admitted to hospitals in the province, yesterday they were 1,704, Friday 1,829 and last week as many as 2,493. The number of people in intensive care also dropped from 414 on Saturday to 402 today, although their number could be higher because not all hospitals report their data over the weekend. Ontario Nurses’ Union secures “retention bonus” for front-line nurses

TORONTO – With less than four months until the Provincial election, the Ford Government agrees to pay $5,000 to Ontario’s front-line nurses in publicly funded settings. The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) confirmed this in a statement (February 11), that said its president, Cathryn Hoy had met with Premier Ford and “negotiated a good-faith retention bonus for all front-line nurses in publicly-funded facilities”.

Of the cumulative total number of cases 84.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 269 Covid-related deaths for a total of 150,824 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Why is there a crisis in education leadership at the TCDSB?

TORONTO – Where to start? Usually at the top. Neither the Director’s office nor the Office of the Chair return Media (ours) email requests or phone calls. That is usually a sign of indifference or disrespect. We are ratepayers and our writers are Catholic electors.

Letters or posts “from the above” sent to parents and teachers (and obtained by us) are signed “Board of the TCDSB”, suggesting that no one wants to take ownership of the contents.
