TORONTO – Italia e Canada collaboreranno sul fronte dell’energia in modo più stabile, più “istituzionalizzato”, con il coinvolgimento di funzionari, imprese e centri di ricerca di entrambi i Paesi. Entra dunque nella sua fase attuativa il “Dialogo energetico bilaterale Canada-Italia” previsto dalla dichiarazione firmata dal primo ministro canadese Mark Carney e dalla premier Giorgia Meloni a margine del Vertice G7 di Kananaskis lo scorso giugno. L’occasione per rendere operativo il “Dialogo” è stata la Riunione dei Ministri dell’Energia e dell’Ambiente dei Paesi G7, svoltasi venerdì a Toronto, a margine della quale il ministro italiano Gilberto Pichetto Fratin e quello canadese Tim Hodgson hanno presieduto la prima seduta “energetica” bilaterale Italia-Canada…
TORONTO – Judging by the posturing in Canada’s House of Commons Question Period (and consequent debate among the select few “insiders” chosen to inform the federal public about its meanings), the country may find itself in the throes of a general election in very short order. Anything is possible in a Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy. Members of Parliament are, strictly speaking, only advisors to the monarch. If the executive branch of that advisory group (Cabinet) cannot demonstrate that its advice – proposals and regulations for effective administration – do not have the support/confidence of the majority of his Majesty’s advisors, then His Majesty seeks different advisors. It is that simple.

The “Canada-Italy Bilateral Energy Dialogue”, envisioned in the declaration signed by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis last June, is now entering its implementation phase. The “Dialogue” was indeed made operational during the G7 Energy and Environment Ministers’ Meeting held on Friday in Toronto, where Italian Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin and Canadian Minister Tim Hodgson chaired the first bilateral Italy-Canada “energetic” meeting. →
