On Sunday, health officials in the Philippines logged 8,735 new infections, numbers not seen since May. Of the cumulative 1.5 million confirmed positive cases, 94.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 127, brining the total number of fatalities to 28,016.
Globally, over 198 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 179 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.2 million worldwide.
Spain has not updated the status of Covid-19 cases since July 30, 2021.
Poland has not reported any Covid-related fatalities on August 1, 2021.
