For the second day in a row, Covid-related deaths in India dip below 4,000. As the highly infectious viral strain continues its spread across the country, health officials recorded more than 326,000 new infections in the last 24-hours. India’s total case count surpassed 24.3 million since the outbreak took hold over one year ago.
Globally, over 161 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 141 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.3 million worldwide.
Portugal did not report any fatalities in the last 24-hours.
