On Monday, health officials in Spain logged 1,495 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 97.1% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 18, bringing the total number of fatalities to 87,186.
Globally, over 244 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 221 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.9 million worldwide.
