On Monday, health officials in the UK logged 31,914 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 6.5 million. Of the cumulative total, 78.1% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 40, bringing the total number of fatalities to 131,680.
Globally, over 211 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 190 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.4 million worldwide.
Poland has not reported any Covid-related fatalities on August 23, 2021.
