On Wednesday, health officials in Mexico logged 12,929 new infections. Of the cumulative 3.5 million confirmed positive cases, 81.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 1,046, bringing the total number of fatalities to 269,015.
Globally, over 226 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 203 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.6 million worldwide.
According to health officials in Ontario, in addition to the 4 Covid-related fatalities reported on September 15, 1 death occurred more than one month ago.
