On Tuesday, health officials in the US logged 72,373 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 44 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 76.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 1,443, bringing the total number of fatalities to 710,682.
Globally, over 232 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 210 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.7 million worldwide.
According to health officials in Ontario, in addition to the 9 Covid-related fatalities reported on September 28, two death occurred more than one month ago.
