On Thursday, health officials in the UK logged 37,269 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 9.2 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 81.4% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 214 Covid-related deaths for a total of 141,395 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 247 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 225 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.0 million worldwide.
