On Thursday, health officials in the UK logged 47,240 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed ten million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 88.6% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 147 Covid-related deaths for a total of 144,433 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 259 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 235 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.1 million worldwide.
