The situation in India remains dire as cases surge across the nation. The healthcare system is under extreme pressure as the country recorded over 300,000 new infections in the last 24-hours and more than 2,100 additional Covid-related deaths, numbers not seen since the onset of the pandemic.
Globally, over 143 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 122 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3 million worldwide.
