On Friday, health officials in Canada logged 3,079 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 1.8 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 96.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 14 Covid-related deaths for a total of 29,751 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 264 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 238 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.2 million worldwide.
