On Friday, health officials in the UK logged 58,194 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 10.7 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 87.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 120 Covid-related deaths for a total of 146,255 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 269 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 242 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.2 million worldwide.
