On Friday, health officials in the UK logged 122,186 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 11.8 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 83.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 137 Covid-related deaths for a total of 147,857 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 278 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 249 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.3 million worldwide.
