On Thursday, health officials in Spain logged 161,688 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 6.2 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 80.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 74 Covid-related deaths for a total of 89,405 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 285 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 253 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.4 million worldwide.
