On Wednesday, health officials in Portugal logged 52,549 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 2.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 81.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 12 Covid-related deaths for a total of 19,412 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 337 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 272 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.5 million worldwide.
