On Wednesday, health officials in the UK logged 44,017 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 19.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 87.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 74 Covid-related deaths for a total of 161,704 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 439 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 372 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.9 million worldwide.
