On Wednesday, health officials in Italy logged 72,568 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 13.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 91.1% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 137 Covid-related deaths for a total of 157,314 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 462 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data.Since the start of the pandemic, over 395 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.0 million worldwide.
The status of Covid-19 cases in India, Spain, Portugal, Bangladesh and the Philippines do not reflect complete data for March 16, 2022.
