On Friday, health officials in Italy logged 74,350 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 14.7 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 90.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 154 Covid-related deaths for a total of 159,537 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 489 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 424 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.1 million worldwide.
The status of Covid-19 cases in Portugal and Bangladesh do not reflect complete data for April 1, 2022.
