On Tuesday, Ontario logged 1,616 new Covid-19 cases. It was the lowest daily number of new infections in 8 weeks. Of the total confirmed positive cases in the province, 93.5% have recovered. In the last 24-hours, the province’s daily Covid-related deaths increased by another 17 fatalities.
Globally, over 163 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 144 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.3 million worldwide.
