Health officials in India logged 87,345 new infections in the last 24-hours. This marks the lowest single-day increase since early April. The additional cases pushed official national tally of positive cases close to 29 million. Of the cumulative total, 94.3% are considered recovered. In the last day, Covid-related deaths increased by 2,115 for a total of 351,344 fatalities.
Globally, over 173 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 157 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.7 million worldwide.
