On Friday, health officials in Russia logged 25,704 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 5.9 million. Of the cumulative total, 89.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 799, the highest daily death toll than any other point in the pandemic.
Globally, over 189 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 173 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.0 million worldwide.
