On Monday, health officials in Bangladesh logged 13,321 new infections, the second highest one-day tally since the start of the pandemic. Of the cumulative 1.1 million confirmed positive cases, 84.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 231, the greatest number of fatalities reported in a single day.
Globally, over 190 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 174 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.0 million worldwide.
