Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – New surge in infections in Ontario: today were recorded more than 700 new infections from Covid-19, the highest daily number of cases recorded in the province in almost two months. Provincial health officials have in fact detected 711 new cases, up from 512 on Wednesday and 642 a week ago. It is the highest daily tally reported since last September 24, when 727 new ones were confirmed. →

TORONTO – They undulate, but remain around 700: this is now the average of new daily infections in Ontario. Today 740 were recorded, fewer than 835 on Saturday but up from 722 on last Sunday. The weekly average, to be precise, is now 688, compared to 564 a week ago. Of the new cases recorded today, 551 involve people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 189 those who are fully vaccinated. →
TORONTO – L’escalastion continua: dopo i 486 casi di martedì e i 660 di mercoledì, ieri l’Ontario ha registrato 678 nuovi casi di Covid-19, dei quali 395 riscontrati in persone non vaccinate, 82 in persone parzialmente vaccinate e 141 in persone completamente vaccinate (per le restanti persone lo stato di vaccinazione è sconosciuto). Dei nuovi casi, 144 sono stati registrati a Toronto, 102 nella regione di Peel, 97 nella regione di York, 78 a Windsor-Essex e 51 nella regione di Durham.
